APHASIA-Soledad| Finding Comfort and Resilience through Hope and Faith
As a student of psychology, I’ve often wondered whether it might be possible that just by having hope and faith can provide a sense of comfort and resilience during difficult times? Can it give a person the motivation and belief that things will improve, and the strength to keep going when faced with challenges?
Research has shown that having hope and faith can have positive effects on mental health. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology found that people with higher levels of hope had lower levels of depression and anxiety, and a greater sense of well-being. Another study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that people who had a strong sense of purpose in life, which can be related to faith, had a lower risk of death and better physical health.
However, It is important to note that hope and faith alone may not be sufficient to overcome all challenges. It is also important to have a strong support system and to seek professional help if needed. However, having hope and faith can be a valuable resource in times of difficulty and can help a person feel more at ease
